ThinkPad Rollable XD Concept

Lenovo always comes up with some of the most stunning concept laptops at CES every year, and 2026 was no different. While the PC maker will be releasing a laptop with a motorized pivoting hinge, it also showcased an all-new rollable concept with a screen that wraps up and over its lid to create a “world-facing” display around back.
The ThinkPad Rollable XD Concept has a sci-fi design. It features a 13.3-inch flexible OLED display that can expand to 16 inches to give you more space vertically. There’s another rollable concept for gamers that expands horizontally. However, the XD Rollable Concept hides the unused section of its rollable display underneath its keyboard.
To expand the OLED screen, you press your finger on the overflowing screen’s top-right corner and swipe towards the left.
The overflowing screen look on top bezel looks slick.

The most impressive part for me isn’t the rollable screen but how the motors and rails work to extend the display. It’s really fun to see the motors and Lenovo’s space-themed animations in action. You can see them move beneath its glass back, which houses another display.
The world-facing screen on the back allows people sitting on the other side of the laptop to see content. You can also mirror elements from the main display or use that space as a small secondary monitor. The most practical use case I can think of would be for meetings or presentations.

The Lenovo ThinkPad Rollable XD Concept laptop’s no-bezel screen on the top side looks futuristic. While its always-exposed design could lead to some damage from day-to-day use, the PC maker has added a 180-degree Gorilla Glass Victus 2 cover on the back for added durability.
All of the other specs are similar to last year’s ThinkBook Plus Gen 6. You get a decent-sized touchpad and a comfortable typing experience, alongside two USB-C ports for connectivity. Lenovo hasn’t teased a release date yet, but we could see something similar launch later in 2026 — like last year’s release.
