If you’ve been waiting to buy a new Windows laptop, now is a great time to do so, as Dell is offering an awesome deal on a 2025 model. Right now, the best configuration for the Dell 14 Plus is on sale for an even $1,000, a more than 50% discount off its original price.

This particular model comes with an Intel Core Ultra 9 288V processor, 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and a 1TB SSD. Like the other builds, it also houses a 14-inch 2.5K IPS screen, a pair of Dolby Atmos speakers tuned with Waves MaxxAudio, and a 64WHr battery. There are several configurations available on Dell’s website, but none are on sale except this one. Even if they were, none hold a candle to the model I recommend.

I’m jealous of anyone who gets this laptop. I wish this configuration had been on sale back when I bought the Dell 14 Plus for myself. The main reason this is such a great machine is the value it delivers. It is a great choice for students, professionals, and anyone looking for a dependable everyday machine.

I reviewed this machine back when it first launched last year. Powered by Intel’s then-new Lunar Lake processor, it delivered a fast, highly responsive performance that holds up to this day. My review unit had an Intel Core Ultra 7 256V processor, and it was able to mostly handle everything thrown at it. I say “mostly” because it did overheat during testing, and performance was throttled. However, because this model has a more powerful chipset, the throttling is less likely to happen, if at all. It’s more capable than the model I had.

    Review: Dell 14 Plus

The rest of the hardware complements the PC nicely. Every configuration of the Dell 14 Plus features a sturdy aluminum chassis, a comfortable keyboard ideal for long typing sessions, and a 14-inch 2.5K display with an anti-glare coating for clear visibility. Battery life is another strong point. It can last 12 hours on a single charge — enough to get comfortably through a full workday.

    How I rated this deal

Per ZDNET’s rating system, I grant this deal a perfect 5/5. At $1,000, this is the lowest this laptop has ever been. Normally, it retails for over $2,000, and at its full price, I wouldn’t recommend the Dell 14 Plus. It’s good, but not $2,000 good. At this new discount, however, it’s a steal. Top-notch performance, sturdy form factor, high-res screen — this laptop has it all. Get it while the deal lasts.
